On the morning of May 12, New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer held a Press Conference at Battery Park in Lower Manhattan. He called for the creation of a public-private New York City Citizenship Fund to help tens of thousands of legal immigrants cover the ever-rising costs of the federal application to become a U.S. citizen. New York State State Senator Daniel Squadron and Assembly Member Yuh-Line Niou were present.
Among the many immigrant representatives, OCA-NY, AAFE and MinKwon Center for Community Action were there to support this important initiative.
