OCA Announces the 2014 OCA-AXA Achievement Scholars

WASHINGTON, D.C. – OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates, a national membership-driven organization of community advocates dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs), is pleased to announce the 10 winners of the OCA-AXA Achievementsm Scholarship.
The scholarship awards $2,000 to APA students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to their communities as entering first year undergraduate students. Since 2004, OCA and the AXA Foundation have partnered to provide scholarships to 104 incoming college students across the country, allowing the opportunity for higher education.
“We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the AXA Foundation in providing hardworking, ambitious, and high achieving students with scholarships that allow them to pursue their dreams. We look forward tosupporting more scholars with opportunities to develop into advocates and future leaders for our communities.” said OCA National President Sharon M. Wong.
"We developed AXA Achievementsm because we understand how difficult the road to higher education can be and want to help students take the next step to college.,” said Faith Frank, President of the AXA Foundation. “OCA-AXA Achievementsm Scholarship winners exemplify the kind of students who receive our scholarships – young people who have accomplished something special and who show the determination to set and reach goals."
